Congratulations on the purchase of your new home and we welcome you as a customer of the Hamilton Township Municipal Authority (HTMA) and hope you will find our website helpful and informative.

We would like to take this opportunity to explain our billing procedures.  HTMA bills for public sewer service only.  The bills are sent out the end of each month for that month’s service.  We must directly bill the property owner and do not directly bill tenants.  All residential accounts are billed at a flat rate of $65.00 per month.  If your payment is received in our office after the due date, a late charge will apply. On your bill you will see the NET amount due (this is the amount due if your payment is received in our office on or before the due date), and the GROSS amount (which is the amount due if your payment is received in our office after the due date.)   All payments must reach our office by the due date indicated on the bill or an additional sum of 5% will be added to the Net Amount, resulting in the Gross Bill amount.  Please refer to the rates and fees section on the website to be aware of various other collections and associated fees.  HTMA does not accept post-dated checks.  If an Accountholder submits a post-dated check, it will be returned to the Accountholder or submitter.

Our billing system and website offers our customers several ways to make receiving and paying your sewer bill more convenient through our customer portal.  The best way to access the customer portal is through this website www.htmapa.com .  To pay your bills online, you will need your account CID number, account number and email address.  The CID number is located on your sewer bill or you may contact our office to obtain the CID number.  If you have multiple properties and cannot access them collectively through the customer portal, please contact our office as there may be some things that may need to be adjusted administratively, which would allow you to view all of your accounts.  Through the customer portal you can choose to self-enroll for E-billing, enroll for AutoPay and you can make and/or schedule payments.  Please be aware that any credit card or e-check payments will incur a convenience fee, which is charged directly by the credit card company, while payment using your bank account is free of charge.

If you are mailing payment, please allow ample time to payments to be received in our office as we do not accept the payments based on the postmarked date, but rather the date they are received in our office.  For your convenience, we also have a mail slot in our office door where payments can be dropped off after hours.

If your home has a grinder pump, you will want to review the Grinder Pump section on our website for important information.

The Authority is constantly looking for sources of inflow and infiltration.  We would like to take this opportunity to heighten awareness that it is illegal for any building floor drain, sump pump, or any device permitting storm water, water table, or surface water to enter the sewer system.  Violation of the Township Ordinance could result in a fine.  A copy of these Ordinances are listed below.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
